The Worship Team at Hebron Baptist Church is one of the most active and most visible ministry teams. Attend one or both of the Sunday morning worship celebrations at 9:00 and 10:00 and you will see the worship team in action. These worship celebrations use a wide array of music styles utilizing the Praise Team, choir, handbells, soloists, and various instrumentalists. Visual art if also prominent through the use of Powerpoint, video, and drama and the audio/visual folks stay busy keeping the technology running smoothly and up to date. Ushers, greeters, decorations, and the prayer ministry are also important parts of the worship team and though not as visible as the other areas, also lend to the worship ministry at Hebron.
Praise and Worship Team
The 9:00 a.m. contemporary music ministry at Hebron is currently led and coordinated by Jennifer Smith.
The 11:00 a.m Worship Team provides uplifting music in the form of spirituals, traditional hymns, contemporary selections and anthems arranged in a choral setting. the choir consists of musicians of varying levels and no prior musical experience is necessary - just a desire to worship the Lord through song is needed. The door is always open to welcome new singers. Fee free to talk to our directors, Jennifer Smith if you would like to request a hymn or join our choir family. Together, they direct the choir and coordinate and lead the Praise Team. Both of those groups rehearse on Thursday evenings and often combine efforts to perform together. Rehearsal time: Thursdays at 6:45 p.m.
Handbells - The handbell choir is directed by Nathan Davis. The handbells play in worship once or twice a month and for special programs such as Sunday evening communions, Easter, Christmas Eve, and the annual Chrismon program. The drama ministry at Hebron is still in a rebuilding phase but drama is being used more frequently at Hebron and will become an important part of future worship celebrations. The audio/visual team is responsible for all the technical aspects of the Sunday morning worship celebrations including sound system, projection system and lighting. These volunteers work on a rotating schedule, working the 9:30 service once every two months and the 10:30 service once a month. The prayer ministry at Hebron Baptist Church is a very vital team. There is a prayer chain that is active seven days a week, 365 days a year. In addition, the coordinators of the prayer chain make sure that the church prayer list is up to date and is available to church members each Sunday morning.
