News from the Youth of Hebron Baptist Church:

"The Christian Connection"

    The youth program is all new and growing.  We have taken on a new name, program, and director.  Our first few months were spent in growing, reorganizing, fellowshipping, and really getting to know each other.

    This month, after many unique and unusual suggestions, the team decided on "The Christian Connection" as a name to refer to our team.  The new name was developed because we wanted our team to reach out to all of the youth in our community no matter what church they do or don't attend.  Our base is Hebron Baptist Church, but our outreach is inside our church family and beyond.

    We've also added a witnessing tool below our name in the form of a question.  This will be listed in smaller print below our name and it will surely generate a question for its meaning, giving the youth an opportunity to openly respond to this question in many ways.  With answers like, "What are you doing for Jesus?", How are you helping God's ministry?", this question will encourage the youth to step out of their comfort zones and begin ministering to others.  We are still working on our purpose for the team by writing a mission statement.  All that we do for His kingdom should have a purpose and a goal.

    We've combined both the junior and senior high groups for our Sunday night meetings at 6:00 p.m.  This gives us the chance to interact and fellowship as a team, providing strength for future events together.  Senior high will be encouraged to be and become leaders in their ministry and during activities of the team.

    There are many great events and sessions already planned and our team would love for any junior or senior high students in our community to join our team.  There's no fee, initiation, or requirement for our team beyond seeking to begin and grow in a "life with Christ."
